Hi All,

I’m in the process of purchasing a brand new property in Santa Pola through an estate agent (in Santa Pola).

As this is all very new to me (buying in Spain) can anyone please advise me whether or not to get an external /independent solicitor or just go with the estate agents flow ....... if you know what I mean!

Would always recommend an independent solicitor.  If anything goes wrong, they will be on the estate agents side, NOT yours.

Never use the solicitor recommended by the agent, you need someone independent even if it costs more, believe me you will save in the long run. I can recommend the Foreign Advice Bureaux in Gran Alicante, just Google the name.

Agreed always independent many people have been shafted in the past and shop around for prices as they vary a lot.

Thanks for your advice! Does €1,500 for everything sound about right?
