Newcomers to Teulada info

Hi all, I am a recent arrival to Teulada from NZ. Struggling to find interest or newcomers groups in Teulada. Joined U3A Ukulele group and starting U3A Spanish group which meet in Teulada once a week, but everything else seems to be in Moraira. Can't find info on any local (Teulada) meet up or interest groups for English speakers or maybe there aren't any. In which case I'll start one! I no longer drive, and I understand the bus service to Moraira is very limited once the free bus stops. It also seems to be impossible to book a taxi! So feeling a bit stuck and wondering if I made a mistake and should have bought in Moraira! But just love the Old Town in Teulada. Any information gratefully received. Meta

Hello Meta and welcome. You may find it a struggle without your own vehicle. Bus services in and around all the villages/small towns are sparse. I cannot comment on groups in Teulada, presuming you have looked at all the information available. There is a famous concert hall there where they have concerts promoting young musicians and information about which is circulated widely.

Many of the local villages, ie Jalon, have many multinational groups of all kinds, and I am not surprised that you find the majority in Moraira. Javea also has a huge international presence and there are many many organisations there.

I don’t know if you don’t drive because of age or some other reason, but if it is still a possibility for you, then I would strongly advise you to look into obtaining a Spanish licence and a car, most of us would find life very difficult here without this.

Thank you so much for that information. I am coming to the same conclusion. I had hoped to be car free over here and use public transport. Not realising it doesn't really exist. Still, it would be nice to meet any other expats living in Teulada who would like to meet up for a coffee occasionally 😁
