Is anyone using Bunq or N26 online banks? What do you think about them? What do you like and dislike about them?

I have just become resident in Spain and am unhappy with the physical banks (good first impressions soon wore off). I can't use Starling because I'm not UK resident, and wasn't immediately before I moved to Spain. But Bunq and N26 are available and seem to have generally good online reviews, with N26 having the higher TrustPilot rating.

I'm particularly interested to know if there are any problems transferring funds into them from the UK (or elsewhere in the world). Or any other operational aspects that make life difficult in Spain.

Thanks in advance.

Transferwise are popular and have just started supporting direct debits.

My husband and I have had N26 accounts for several years and thoroughly recommend them.

No account charges, you can withdraw cash at any ATM without charge, can be run as any high street bank but securely on line

Great customer service. The only problem we have had was having salary paid into the account but you can now have a Spanish IBAN number.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply.

What was the problem with getting money paid in? Was it at the sending end or the receiving end? I gather it's easy to get money out but I want to be sure I can get money into the account without lots of grief.
