Hi,
I am looking at changing my bank from Caixa to N26. Does anyone who is a non-resident in Spain have an N26 account with a Spanish IBAN? I think I need the Spanish IBAN to pay my bills and my yearly non resident tax.
Thanks

N26 no longer allow non-residents to open an account with them
Availability across Countries | N26 Support EU
Most people do seem to have migrated across to Wise. Note they don't have a banking licence and so client money is protected in a slightly different (and less secure) way:
How Wise keeps your money safe | Wise Help Centre
But for the most part, I doubt that matters for most people but is something to be aware of.

If you have an address in Spain then you can open an N26 account with a Spanish IBAN, BUT be prepared to have to prove it annually, by spending money in Spain (easily done on Amazon.es, supermarket delivery etc)

It doesn't necessarily have to be a Spanish IBAN, an EU one is acceptable.
I.E many on this forum are with Wise, their account is based in Belgium, IBAN begins with BE, this is widely accepted everywhere.
I am non res and all my direct debits in Spain are paid via my Wise account, I don't keep loads in the account, just enough to cover running costs plus a bit more for the odd emergency, very easy to top up and no running costs.

I have used a company for over 10yrs to pay my non res tax, she does it all for me, she is English and so I pay her fee by bank tranfer in GBP and the non res tax from my Wise acount to her Euro account, she then emails me the paperwork, works great for me.
Ken
So the answer is NO then!

Not strictly true - you are still asked to declare that you are a Spanish resident when opening the account. Now, some may consider that a sufficient "white lie" so as to enable them to open the account; others may not.
