Hi all , I'm A non resident and recently opened a Starling bank account so I am in the process of changing my DD,S

I went into Iberdrola and changed that Monday, along with my tariff . Agamed did my water DD online and both sent me a confirmation email but I,m not sure about the SUMA , do I go into town queue up and do it there or can it be done by phone or online

Also whilst I am trying to get away from paying everything through sabadell , my solicitor who I used when buying 8 yrs ago has always done my non resident tax and SUMA .How do I pay the non resident tax without using a spanish account

Thanks

Hi, I use Angar Taxation Services from Torrevieja, all done by email, they calculate your INR from your IBI invoice, pay on your behalf, send you receipt proof all for 20€ per owner per property. I bet that,s a lot cheaper than your solicitor! Google them and contact, you have plenty of time to stop your solicitor from doing this years payment (for 2019) due by December. I personally went into my local Suma office to change bank details as we,d also bought a car and needed to arrange tax on that by direct debit. You need your IBI invoice sending to you by email not post as non resident to then send on to Angar for your INR calculation, unless you always return to Spain to pick up your post to do it by December.

Regards

Pauline.

I have just looked into a Starling Bank account , as I have seen it mentioned quite a lot. There seem to be several options a Personal/Joint or a Euro Account. I live in the Uk, but have a property in Spain, that I currently pay bills for through Sabadell.

I thought I had read that Starling did not charge for services and the Euro one says it does . Help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Handbag1 , I'm not aware of any charges on the euro side of the account but I've only just got up and running with my 1st water and electricity DD coming out 2 weeks ago . Let's hope not that's why I'm getting away from sabadell

Hi I have opened a Starling euro account but it has a GB at the start of the IBAN.

Does anyone know if Direct Debits are accepted by Suma   (IBI) with a GB prefix?

I have tried chats with them but they do not reply ,even though I used my best Spanish.

Thanks

Hello,

Just reafding your quiry re Starling On Line account. I am moving to Spain shortly and have been on the net looking for On Line account. As you are with Starling can you give any comments: is the on line account in english, is it fairly straight forward to use.

Hi Dave 74,

Starling is a good account,I like how you can transfer your £s into Euros at the cost of .4% . You have to open a euro account after you have opened a sterling account, and then you can swap between the two.

I asked if any one had any experience of Spanish institutions refusing the card when setting up direct debits because you are given a GB iban.

No reply's so far.

I am opening an account with cajamar (Wefferent) as their are no charges . I am currently with Bankia who now charge me 14 euro a month maintenance.

Hope this helps

John

Moning John,

I had marked Cajamar as an on line bamk to look at. If you open an account with them could you keep me in the loop of how you progress. I am hoping for a an online bank with a Spanish IBN.

Cheers
