Hi everyone!

We fly out on Sunday 3rd May, but unfortunately our flight doesn't get in until 22.50.

A private transfer is coming out about £100 return.

Is that the best I can hope for?

We're hoping to buy our "Place in the Sun" so any advice you can offer too would be greatly appreciated!

£100 return seems quite reasonable to me (assuming your going to Torrevieja, going by your profile) for a private transfer. We used to pay around £130 return.

Hi, yes it's to Torrevieja.

I get a discount through work, so that's good then. We might get it one way, on the Sunday. Then get the bus back. We've never been yet, so it would be a good idea to try it out.

Thanks very much for your help.

Good luck on finding somewhere, we were never brave enough to catch the bus. We used a solicitor in Torrevieja and found them to be fantastic, we dealt with an English lady there and she was always on the end of the phone for advice with any questions we had. If you need the details let me know.

Are you looking to buy in Torrevieja or in the surrounding areas?

Benniconnect  are a private transfer company which I have used a few times - only £16 each way last year but the cost is wholly dependant on the Season and how many bookings they have - check out the costs on their Web Site

You can get a taxi outside the exit to torrieveja @65Euros and if you are lucky the last bus leaves at 10.00pm then a taxi to your home for less than 7 € buss fares are 7€ each to torrieveja.

The queue for the Torrevieja Airport buses at 16.00 is an absolute Bun-Fight! - 2 plane loads of passengers and too many Locals - I have encountered people being pushed out of the way and even thrown to the ground - with the local rabble shouting 'Touristo' to anyone who'll listen - it's abysmal and NOT a welcome to Spain which is why I either book a Taxi online who meets me at arrivals with my name on a card - or pre book Benniconect tranfers

A pre booked taxi with radio taxis Torrevieja is €50 each way, an extra €5 for nighttime and weekends, so your transfer at €100 is good value.

Either of those will take you door to door.  I think the bus is €7.40 per passenger, and you then have to find your way to your accommodation from Torrevieja bus station, so your decision will be weighted by the amount of luggage you have.

We thought we wanted to live one side of Torrevieja, but have ended renting on the opposite side, and are happy here.  I and many others on this forum stress the importance of renting before you buy, otherwise you might find yourself in a property that, once you're living in, you discover is not suitable, and you could be stuck for years before you can sell it on.

Good luck in your search.
