Tarjeta Bus ( as opposed to Tarjeta Cuidadano, which is for those on Padron) is available from either the bus station in Torrevieja or from the bus driver. The card costs €2 and can be loaded with either €10 or €20 and recharged as necessary. This card then lets you use the bus for 85cents ...

...as opposed to €1.55 . If your spanish is not good just present €12 or €22 and ask for Tarjeta Bus

I would love to think this is correct, but I don't think it is available for non residents?  Has anyone actually managed to get one?  Earlier this summer they announced great plans for a shake up of the buses and fares etc but I don't think anything has happened with that yet either?

Bought mine 2 weeks ago on A2 bus at Hotel Fontana stop, non-resident and only requirement was €2 for card and also put €20 on it there and then. Trips now cost 85cents

this is the bus pass you want. just show that to the driver. it is 2 euros  but the first time you have to top it up with 20 euros. After that 10 or 20 euros

Does anyone know if there is a child fare and a child bus pass?

Also does each person need their own bus pass or could the same pass be used by 2 people travelling together?

Thank you

I don't know about children's fare but yes you can buy 2 fares on one card. If I have a companion I just say ' dos' to the driver and put the card down twice. Its only 85 cents each.

Good question.

Hello

I suggest that you go into Torrevieja bus station and ask at the ticket window where the pass is available.   Perhaps you can post your answer on here, then it can benefit others too.

Cheers

Hello

Ah,  if you are not here then this bus pass is of no immediate use to you. When you are back,  check again as the bus system is due for a total upgrade soon & this procedure may not stay the same.
