Winter in Torrevieja

I have rented an apartment from 17th December until 22nd February near Parc de Nations. I shall be driving from the North of England and now plan to spend 88 of my 90 days allowance in Torrevieja each winter. I play online chess each day with my son who is in West Africa but would like to hook up with some chess players in a coffee bar to play chess at least once a week. I am an average player and always consider that I learn more from loosing a game than I do from winning.
I also cycle if anyone has an interest in "cycle exploring" - leisure cycling to find new trails and routes. Maybe a pub lunch.
