Salud Update

This is an update on the situation regarding the coronavirus (covid19).
All those who have blood tests, nurses’ appointments (either in consultation or at the nurse’s station), ECG’s and/or x-rays, please have in mind that these appointments have been postponed till further notice.
Blood tests and x-rays are still being done but only if they are URGENT.
However, SINTROM appointments are still on.
All those who have appointments to see your doctor, please do not go to the Salud on the day of your appointment. The GP will call you and the consultation will be made over the phone.
Those patients who want to see their GP so as to be referred to a Hospital Consultant will not be referred for the time being.
Those patients who need to see their GP are asked to contact the doctor through the YOsalud page. If you are not registered in the YOsalud page, then call the Salud and make the request to see your GP over the phone. The doctor will then call you.
If you need to update your medication list, you are asked NOT to go to the Salud. Instead you have to call your Salud and tell them your medication has to be updated. Have in hand your SIP card when you call. You will be told when you can go to pick up the medication from the chemist. NO need to go to the Salud to pick up the updated prescription.
Please have in mind that all the Health Centres are open but ONLY for EMERGENCIES.
Regarding Hospital appointments. Those who have appointments this month will receive a phone call/text to say that your appointment has been postponed till further notice. The hospital will contact you in due time with a new appointment.
This is a difficult situation for everybody but with patience and following all the recommendations given by the authorities, things will go back to normal. One more thing, beware of fake news going round in social media.
