Travelling to Spain with just 1 Covid Jab. is this okay?
Hi, My daughter had a reaction to the covid jab, therefore has not had the others. We are coming over on the 7th of September, can anyone advise if there will be any issues?

Without the second jab, she will need to take either a PCR or antigen test. She will need to show the certificate as well as completing the SpTH form

Hi Wendydove1,
This is the relevant extract from Gov.UK, including a link to their website:
"If you're not fully vaccinated, you can enter Spain presenting one of the following documents:
Travellers from the UK who can either show proof of being fully vaccinated, or of having recovered from prior COVID-19 infection in the last 6 months, or who are aged under 12 years old, do not need to complete Spain’s Travel Health Control form. Everyone else must complete Spain’s Travel Health Control form no more than 48 hours before travel to Spain. See Spain’s Ministry of Health travel pages for more detail."

Kind regards,
Kim

A Randox antigen test is about a tenner, do it yourself without ramming the swab down your throat, photo the result with your phone and the app. issues the 'certificate'. Takes ten minutes the day before you travel. It's annoying and a totally pointless exercise, but no longer a big deal.

Good basic advice. In addition she will still need a travel health control form. And she could still catch covid at the departure airport or on the flight to Spain from someone who is fully vaccinated and has the certs to prove it. We are fully vaccinated, had our boosters, already had covid several months ago and right now got it again after picking up our daughter who returned from Spain last week. She also has had all the relevant vaccinations and booster. So, a picture of a neg test the day before you travel doesn’t really make any difference. The person sitting next to you on the flight (who didn’t need a picture of neg test because they were vaccinated ) can give you covid. Apart from that, Randox don’t know who took the test in the first place, was it really you ? they just want the money to issue the certificate. As Gordon summed it up (above) it’s a pretty pointless exercise. Don’t get me wrong, vaccination is the reason that right now, with covid, I don’t feel any worse than I have done in the past with a cold !

Hi Rustyruss67,
It isn't a big thing for those who are fully vaccinated - something the Spanish authorities know before you arrive in Spain, because you can't get on a plane or ferry in the UK without first proving your vaccination status.
Kind regards,
Kim

The Spanish government seems to be relying on the airline or ferry company to enforce their travel restrictions.

Interesting to hear of your experience which helps confirm the absurdity of the continuing discrimination against the unvaccinated.
You say this at the end though - "vaccination is the reason that right now, with covid, I don’t feel any worse than I have done in the past with a cold". No doubt it makes you feel good to believe this, but how do you know it's true?

I see France has dropped all their restrictions in regards to having to show covid vaccine certification, hope Spain will soon be in the position to do the same
