Morning I have purchased a 10 year old car the itv is due 17th July we do not come back to spain until late 19th July , we are based in Algorfa, can we take our vehicle to any itv centre.??? Is there a grace period??? Do you need to take passport,, proof of insurance etc ???

You can take you car to any ITV centre in Valencia. If you go to an ITV centre in Murcia, you will have to have the extra noise testing which Valencia requires within a month of the test.
There is no grace period so your car would have to be transported to the ITV station if it has run out and I believe the closest one is in Almoradi.

The note from my classic cars exhaust is, to put it very conservatively, 'fruity' yet it goes through its Valencian ITV in without comment.

I suppose it's possible that might be because it is old and therefore, unlike more recent cars, can't have it's number punched into the computer to come up with a manufacturers noise specification?
