I will be driving from Santander to Torrevieja and had planned to go via M50 that circles Madrid. Looking at the DGT website I'm concerned it is in the new Madrid 360 clean air zone and I need a sticker. I have a 2010 registered diesel  vehicle. Could anyone please advise.

Many thanks in advance.

I  have just completed   Sandanter  to Torrevieja  last  week  and I   made mistake  of driving  through  Madrid  or Underneath  Madrid as it a Tunnel  route  and it cost 14.60 for privilege  of my Mistake,

I  had  no clean air sticker  and I  was  driving  a small  Commercial  van, I  don't  think  you  will  need it unless  you intend  spending  a Long period  of time in or around  Madrid

Safe  journey

Once  you get to about 50k  outside  or North  of Madrid,  by  that I mean  50k  before  you reach Madrid there is plenty  of  Rest area  with Restaurants  and Petrol  station  pull  in.

Have a break and a Coffee  and reset Sat nav  for Torrevieja  and it should  bring  you in direction  of Murcia, Take this Route,  Avoid  Madrid . Just set cruise  control  @  95  and  you will arrive  in Torrevieja  and good weather. 👍

The route I suggested  is route  I intend  taking,But got carried  away.

You say it your first time Driving  to Torrevieja, Have  you  used Car  ferry  before,  Salamanca  is Boat I  was on,  very nice boat, Food on  expensive  side for what you get ,Bring Drinking water with you to your Cabin, Be careful  using  Internet  check  your Provider  as you will  be using Martime services  you are at Sea, Cabin  are OK 👍

But sorry  to end on a bad note, The sea crossing was very rough,  not recommended  to walk  about, I lay on bed for majority  of crossing  and plenty  of fruit, TV  could  only get French  channels,  so that no use to me, most of crew were French and  English  is spoken  but on a personal  level  I found them hard to understand. I  had a Dog with  me but could  only get a Dog 🐕  Kennels  as Pet  friendly  Cabin booked  out, I  use  Rosslare  Ireland  to Sandanter   28 hours  crossing

Best 👌  of luck with your  journey

Bon Voyage

Thank you. I'm on Rosslare to Santander too. Lots of helpful tips for our crossing as it's our first time overnight on the boat with cabin.

Fingers crossed it not rough. 🤞

Best wishes

We're departing in Feb. Good to know the diesel price. Much cheaper than home. Enjoy the sunshine ☀

I would suggest that you take a look at the N332 website as it deals with anything to do with driving in Spain.   It is for English speaking people and is run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil.   There is an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.
