Hi all due to go back to the uk on the 03/01/2021, does anyone know if or when the 180 days will start. Is it when I return or will it start on the 01/01/2021

Hi Pandp,
Schengen regulations will start to be applied to UK citizens, as Third Country nationals, on 1st January 2021, but your 90 days count down in a rolling 180 will be applied to individual citizens from the date you enter Schengen for the first time from 1 January 2021.
That said, as I type, it's just been announced that the UK and the EU have reached a deal, so we now need to see what that means for UK citizens' rights in the EU.
