Lots of good ideas above. People will need some clues. Is Raymond retired? Do either he or his wife have a part time job?  Have you tried Facebook for any other family? Surely the younger generation will use it.

Have you visited in the past? Do you remember anything eg clues to beach or a pub or was it near Carrefour hyper market? Anything at all that may provide a clue. Did they live in a house or apartment? Was it in Torrevieja or the outskirts? Get your thinking cap on and tell us!

Hi there,

Just a thought: how about ringing up Iceland and ask them if they can give you any information or get Candice to ring you?

Not sure if this is the right one but I have this phone number for the Torrevieja branch.

+34 965706151

They will speak English so it will be easier for you.

Good luck.

Janice

Tell your girls to pop into Iceland at the bottom of the Avenue de Valencia. The staff are all either English, Scot’s or from N Ireland and will hopefully know Candice. ( such an unusual name should be easy to remember). Even a telephone call to Iceland could help. It’s now called Overseas company or something like that. Let’s hope you find your family.

Send them an email.  They might ask for a small payment donation to help run the Spanish CAB organisation.  I found them very informative and helpful.  If your brother has a Spanish property you can also  write and contact a local notary office in Torrevieja - Do a Google search for notaries in the area ' Notaries in Torrevieja Spain'.  Also write to the government Spanish Ministry of Justice.  As an act of kindness they have all been very helpful and have given me lots of valuable advice and support.

I just rang the number from Spain, so without the prefix, at 6.15pm local time on Saturday afternoon, and I got through to Iceland’s, which is actually called Overseas Trading I believe, and an English person answered. I suppose it may depend on the time you ring them.

Bear in mind the hour’s difference, which I’m sure you did, and that shops don’t open very early here!

Good luck.
