Hi has anybody got storage heaters please. I would like to know about running cost and how efficient they are in the winter, like the one we have just had. We live in an apartment and are resisted about what we buy. However if you have a better idea about heating then please let me know. Jan

Thanks Pete we used the air com inverters this year and we were still really cold. Would ramp it up to 30 degrees but the room temp never got to that temp. 24 at best and a €200 monthly bill and still cold. Jan

Hi

They are not the cheapest to install but a pellet burner would be good and you can program the time for when you come in etc but as with any flame burning appliance get a C0 detector fitted.

The real advantage of pellet burners are that the pellets are easy to store and they do not give of water vaper so no mould.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Hi guys,

Although i am not a professional we have had the new paraffin heaters for 14 months. They cost new about 100 euros and are so cheap to run you dont miss the money.

They are well vented as a stand alone unit and very very hot, i believe like gas fires etc etc ventilation is key, with these two we have they simply make the room very hot very quick so no need for prolonged useage. Much cheaper than electric that is for sure and i wouldnt of thought they were allowed to sell millions of them if they were dangerous.

Just my thoughts

Maybe they won't kill you if you take the correct precautions but the advice was well ment I am sure, they do give off water which causes condensation and if not correctly ventilated you will have problems the same as gas! at least you should always have at a CO2 alrm fited or your life is in danger be aware and warned of this potential danger!!

Hi,

I believe we are on the same wave length and co2 alarm, smoke alarms are a must now a days and they are cheap and easy to be installed.

I also think the point we were both making is that there are many options which are cheap and cheaper to use than electric, as this is so expensive in Spain.
