Benidorm.

Majority open, good expat community if you’re looking for it..... we spend the winters outside Benidorm, handy commute in if we feel the need.

Much more to the area than the TV portrayed ‘boozy brit’ .... especially the old side of town.

The quick answer to that is anywhere that has a good residential population.  If there are plenty of people living in the area or lots of visiting 'snowbirds' then the amenities stay open whether on the coast or in towns a little inland all year round.  You give Torrevieja as your location and nearly everything in Torrevieja stays open all year round (except the fun fair).

Anywhere. In any area only a few places close for a month or two, the rest are business as usual.

Thank you for your replies We were looking at Murcia but can't get flights to there so Alicante seems good

If you want a Spanish vibe Torrevieja central. Otherwise try Benidorm old town for a mix.
