Hi all ,

Well the new year  is starting  and we owners of holiday homes are left in Limbo regarding our position after Brexit.

We have owned  our property for 25 years  with no  problem, found good friends etc of all nationalities. Did  we know about the restrictions that Brexit would fetch?  No we didn't .Boris and his cronies have conned  us, fed us lies about the benefits without ever mentioning the down-sides.  Let's hope  the Spanish goverment come up with  something for the home owners to extend their right to stay in Spain for longer than the 90/180 days.

Fingers crossed.

Roy.

While I agree that Boris and his wealthy cronies lied through their teeth about the upsides of Brexit, I don’t agree that the downsides were not made clear in 2016. Unfortunately, the press labelled the downsides as ‘project fear’ and too many people were taken in.

I’m lucky enough to have dual nationality so my freedom of movement doesn’t end tonight but I feel for those who won’t have the funds to follow their dreams of retiring in the sun.

Hopefully there will be changes over the next few years and bilateral agreements will be made which makes the future look a bit brighter.

Shaun

The 90 in 180 is a Schengen rule not a Spanish rule. As a fellow holiday home owner I am obviously aware of the loss of freedom of movement but I do not expect the EU to change its rules just for the country that decided to leave the club.

If we want to stay longer I believe we need to apply for a visa.

Amazing how many people are now applying for Irish passports.  I know a few of them, they all voted for Brexit.  Hypocrite comes to mind.

I believe the process is called democracy, the rolling stones recorded a song ,you cant always get what you want ,and that is oh so true when you vote for something, cant remember how many times I've voted unsuccessfully ,but then that's life
