Hi all , we are moving out to Spain next April and if I was to bring my car over from the U.K. , what do I need to do ,ie insurance, MOT , road tax , do I need to notify anyone , I would appreciate any advice you could give us , cheers all .

Cheers Pete , as we are going to be living in Spain, this sounds more hassle than it’s worth, so I think we’ll buy a new car when we get over there , thanks for your advice .

Hi Pete,
Could you please give more details on what you mean by :
'There may be away to avoid import duty if you get the car treated as personal goods and start the re-registration process immediately after entering Spain.'
We have just arrived, had our are transported and have insurance for 90 days from our UK insurers but are keen to reduce the massive import tax if we register it.
Grateful for any advice.

OR, do what we have done and bought a Spanish registered LHD in the UK and take that across in 3 weeks time.
Can recommend Jake in Spondon, Derbyshire.
