However some of the charges may be airport surcharge which most of the car hire companies are charging now. Yes a rip off, I'd rather have then being upfront on costs than giving rental at £15p/w and hitting you with loads of charges. Best of luck.

TBH if somebody offered me car hire for £15/wk I'd run away as fast as I could and you wouldn't see me for the dust !

Believe it or not the car hire at £15p/w was better around than the £130p/w I ve paid before. My point is integrity, if car hire companies gave the charges correctly rather than hitting you with under hand charges.

I agree with all the comments made about these car hire company's.

I rented from Record Cars on a full for full fuel basis and returned car to there parking bay and posted keys in there kiosk letter box in the car park together with fuel receipt as advised.

I took a photo of the car parked in there bay clearly showing the number and there logo sign above. On our return to the UK we were charged an extra days rental plus a fuel surcharge plus additional charges. When challenged they advised me that the charges were for not refueling the car, and parking the car in Goldcar bay(which is on a different floor level) which took them a day to find- hence charge !?

Despite me showing photo of car clearly parked in there bay they still insisted that it was parked incorrectly in Golcar bay on a different floor and that keys were not posted in there key letterbox and that the photo was not proof!!??.

Proof that these two company's work together to SCAM you out of your money.

Always use your Credit Card as it provides added security.

We hired with Click rent recently and paid for their added COMFORT INSURANCE. A waste of effort. Arrived home to find an email from them thanking us for our custom but saying that they had deducted €150from our card for damages. Sent pictures of the boot open but no description of any damage. I emailed but got nowhere in a hurry. I contacted our credit card bank..Lloyds, they soon after refunded the amount to our account until they sorted things out.

We were sick and fed up with constantly being the victims of corruption..so many times we have been accused of fictions damage. We bought a brand new car the other day and hope it will do us for years.  Always paying for insurance and coming back and forth for longer periods than 31 days had ended up costing over €2,500 last year so no more wasting hard earned money. Good bye car hire scams ,hello Meet and Greet!

Hi Rose we are in the same boat but struggling on what to buy without getting ripped off. I wouldn't touch a used car unless I was sure of the former owner. Would you mind sending me a pm with what you went for.
