Can anyone recommend a repair person as my oven keeps tripping out the breaker in the fuse box.

Many thanks.

Your problem isn’t your oven. Your problem is over loading as you’re probably only tariffed for a low consumption. It’s a pain in the neck and everyone at some point has encountered this. Try not to use your oven at the same time as your kettle, or your oil filled heater. Any electrical item over 1 kilowatt is going to take its toll

Certainly, enquire at your local electricity supplier eg Iberdrola.

Wintertime is the worst as we always turn our appliances on at the same time. You’ll get used to it. Perhaps someone else might suggest a better authority on the matter but this has been my experience. Keep a torch nearby!

Thanks but: Its definitely the oven, it used to work fine. I know all about overloading but even with nothing on its trips out immediately. Its either the switch or the element, I have looked on you tube and its more than likely its the switch which controls the switch beteen the temperature and what part of the its set too.

It will be one of the two elements that is at fault.

I must be one of the lucky ones as, having lived here for almost 17 years, I have never encountered an overloading problem even though I have a number of items using electricity at the same time.

It sounds like you need a new element, same thing happened to us when we first moved into our house. It’s a fairly common problem here in Spain. Contact Stewart , highly recommended.

Hello Alfapash, My Spanish friends have had an identical problem and it was the top element oven / grill. If the oven is not used for months it collect humidity and causes a problem. Electrical apparatus like aircon should be used for 10 minutes every couple of months for the same reason. I am not a qualified electrician, but have lived in Guardamar 17 years and its not the first time I have encountered this problem. Regards, Peter132

Thanks Lynn and Peter.

That is probably why its gone. It hasn't been used for a while during covid etc as its a holiday home. We don't have air-con but over the year its get very hot and cold in the apartment during different seasons.Sometimes we don't use the oven at all it depends on the lenghth of stay.

If I knew where I could buy the element I could change it myself, but I'll have to contact Stewart as that will be the quickest way to get it working again.

I'll give him a call tomorrow. Thanks again for all the info. Much appreciated.

Lynn

Thanks again Lynn for posting Stewarts details. I phoned him yesterday morning and he came out in the afternoon. Both elements were kaput. He changed both. Very nice guy took all the bad parts away. He said if you weren't using the oven very much, to turn it on for about 15mins both grill and oven every month as if the elements get damp, over time especially over the winter periods they will fail.

I think it might also be an idea if you aren't coming out very much to leave the oven door open to allow air to circulate.

If anyone is reading this make a note of the numbers Lynn posted above.

Hello. Can anyone recommend an electrical repair person for an AEG INDUCTION HOB. We're in El Galan and all the people I have contacted so far won't touch them. I have also contacted the AEG service centre but when they rang back, they don't speak English. (Only the inner part of the dual zone ring is working)

Thanks in advance ☺️
