This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Are you "Steve6" as well as "French Martini"?

I don't see that Steve6 has complained about being insulted. Are you another person that is offended on behalf of someone who has not said they are offended? Woke.

As for Cummings doing what he did for whatever reason, why are people in the UK using that as the excuse for them to sit on a beach only centimetres from someone they have never met?

UK has the worst statistics for Covid in Europe. Will UK citizens be restricted to travel into some European countries, including Spain?

My new home (not holiday home!) is in Spain but I am told by the Spanish Embassy that I can only travel at the moment unless I have my certificate of Residecia with me. I dont have one as I can only apply in person to get one. All my documents and deeds are with my solicitor in Spain.

I will stay isolated here in the UK until I can travel with out worrying that I could be stopped  fined and turned back to the UK.

I knew who you were referring to, but I really have this dislike for people being offended on behalf of someone they probably don't know (as I don't) not knowing if that person is actually offended personally (which I don't know).

Reading some of Steve6's posts I think he would have said something if he had been offended.

But there, I am assuming that too.

You’ll generally find that it’s the folk who cannot accept a referendum result, a council election result, a landslide general election result and then to top it off they keep harping on like spoiled children and explore every avenue they find to whinge a little bit more about the party in power and moan more about the way the ballots went against their wishes. Waken up, it’s called democracy.
The UK would really be up shit creek without a paddle if the Corbyn circus were in power, thankfully they got decimated at the polls and sent home to lick their wounds. Sad folk really, pity they have little else to do when the country and indeed the world is in this pandemic state. Brownie and political point scoring at its worst.

Interesting response but when did Dominic Cummings, the subject of the original post, get elected?

Mr Cummings made a very long journey which would require filling his petrol tank at least once- if he or his family were suspected of having Covid then he knew he was putting other road travellers at risk. He also did a day trip to a local beauty spot while away from London, allegedly for his wife’s birthday and then made up a story about testing his eyesight. He made the Rules and other excellent professionals such as the Scottish health advisor have had to go for breaking their own rules - the former recognising her position - apologising profusely before tendering her resignation. That is what you do when you get it wrong- you show humility and act professionally.

And what about the thousands who went the parks Beaches etc they were more of a threat than three people. It’s all political because of what he stands for Brexit and Boris why are you not moaning about the two MPs who went to parties. He did wrong  I admit so did thousands more but we will leave them alone like all them demonstrating outside  Parliament the other day.how many passed the virus on that day.

The thousywho went to the park were of course wrong as were those MPs who went to parties. Mr C is in a position of extreme power as chief advisor to the PM - he broke the rules he made us follow- his own rules and now across the UK people are saying to police officers “if it is good enough for Mr Cummings....” His example was crucial to lockdown credibility and he let everyone down - and then showed no humility and so reinforced the public view that they were conned by the we’re all in it together slogan.

Last week a picture of Irish Prime Minister with his mate / partner ? With his shirt off standing next to two men less than 2m apart  In a park ?no uproar over that and he’s No 1. People are not all thick or sheep sometimes do what you feel is right you don’t have to just follow. You will not  convince me .this is a vendetta  Against someone who is disliked because he is not one of the lads or establishment.

Maybe, Ray, there is little point in my response, as you’ve stated we shall not convince you. It matters little to the British what the Irish or any other nation do in this situation.  What does matter is what the British government and it’s advisors are seen to be doing.  I reiterate, an honourable man would resign. We can, therefore, draw our own conclusions.
