Dagurney Actually my son is a Detective Inspector his worries and those of his fellow officers is not the virus it’s the possibility of looting taking place.

Sorry this has nothing to do with Dom Cummings or his distraction from the government message or his undermining of the PM's credibility.

You told me to ask a policeman I did.

Did you ask him why?

Looting most often occurs during riots, and whilst I understand police forces were instructed to put their riot squads on standby following the Dominic Cummings revelation, I'm not aware any have taken place?

There are peaceful protests taking place around the UK today, but reports suggest our police officers, unlike their US counterparts, are managing these extremely well and all remains calm.

Yes but not about a black matters march  -about what was relevant to our conversation and how Mr Cummings actions undermined his own government message and the PMs credibility in not sacking him.

Suggest you have a look at some of the videos doing the rounds.the two coppers being chased and punched by a group of demonstrators.me personally would have preferred The coppers had guns and used them instead of running away to safety.

Thankfully our police have more sense and calm the odd flare up rather than escalating it with the sort of police violence you propose and seen in the US.

As for the police being chased and punch, I've done a Google search and can't find any reference to it; perhaps you vou could share a link to the story?

I did however find this story from a few days ago though:
