Hello,

My name is Patricia, and together with my husband Ivan we have plans to come and live in La Sella. I would like to know what it's like to live there permanently. Is it pleasant in both summer and winter in terms of atmosphere, movement and sport? The people who live there may be able to answer the question; what are the positive and negative sides of La Sella. Are there often break-ins? You can tell me your story, then I will learn more about La Sella. What to look out for when purchasing a villa, which side is better located, etc. We will leave in 8 days to take a look, but the best comments and advice we can get is yours, who already live in La Sella.

I thank you in advance for your kindness to answer me, and who knows, see you soon in La Sella.

Greetings from Patricia and Ivan

Just curious but where is La Sella as I have never heard of it.

Don’t know where you are coming from but it may help you if you have a look at Jim’s Guides on this site.   Another couple of helpful sites are Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for general queries and the N332 site for anything to do with driving in Spain.   It is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.

I'm so sorry, it was meant to only post my topic in La Sella forum in Denia.

But thank you for your reply.

Hi there...

I live 5 minutes away from La Sella. It's a beautiful urbanisation but as you will know it's not gated although there is on site security and they do patrol. Crime around here is  not as prevalent as in some other Costa Blanca areas but you need to take the obvious precautions and if you're buying a stand alone property the previous owner should have taken account of that. The neighbours watch out for each other. I think there are many people who live there all the year round and the golf tennis and horse riding operates normally in the winter.

Bear in mind you will need a car 24/7 unless you can walk to the mini market (which is extremely limited).

Take plenty time to ensure your chosen property faces south/south west and gets some winter sun as I've heard it can be a bit cold and damp there in the winter due to the hill terrain blocking sunshine to many properties while the arc of the sun is lower Dec-March. If you see a property you like, go back the next day at 11.00 hrs 14.00 and 16.00 to plot where the sun is falling.

If you need feedback on agents who operate there let me know.

Interesting but useless info: Richard Gere funded the building of the Buddhist retreat at the top of the hill.

Happy hunting, best regards, Steve

Ah, that explains why I have not heard of it, as I live in the south of Alicante Province.

Just for info La Sella is near Denia, not to be confused with the town called Sella in the hills north of Villajoyosa.

Hello Steve,

Thank you for answering my question. We will certainly take into account in which direction the house is built and where located. As you said, it is true that we have to be careful that we are not in the shade in the winter, as in many places in Denia on the montgo. Thanks again for your kindness. If I have any questions, I will post them on the forum.

Have a nice weekend,

Patricia and Ivan

Hello,

Where it is also beautiful to live of course. I'm sorry for the mistake I've made. I needed to mention La Sella nearby Denia.

The place Sella in the mountains around the corner from Relleu is a typical sleepy Spanish place 👌
