LONG TERM CAR PARKING ALICANTE AIRPORT

Hi, 

I have used Plane Parking SL for several years now and have found them very reliable.

You would book them online and when travelling from Alicante would drive up to departures at the time specified by yourself, look out for one of the guys in a yellow top, hand your car over to them after signing the paperwork and off you go. 

Then on your return your car will be delivered to you outside of departures after you have rung them to say that you have collected your cases. The price includes an external wash as well.

Many thanks Bill..... will pass this information on to my friend.  Perhaps you can help answer another question?  We have purchased a property in Torrevieja, but do not intend to move over permanently..... how do we approach the insurance side, and what should we do about Spanish car taxes and registration etc.  Some people say it is ok to keep it all based in UK???

Regarding household insurance, I can personally recommend Casas Espania SL which is located on the La Siesta roundaboud next to Gran China restaurant, heading towards Quesada from Torrevieja. 

As for a UK registered vehicle you are legally permitted to drive in Spain for 6 months (182 days) in any one year, after that you would need to get it registered in Spain along with adjusting or replacing the headlights. There are several people that can arrange for the re-registration for a reasonable sum, but to be honest with you if it were myself I would sell your car in the UK and purchase a Spanish registed one over here, unless you intend to drive to and from the UK.

We also use Plane parking first class service we have Dual parking Alicante/Murcia cannot praise them enough and I don’t give praise out often.

Many thanks for your input Bill..  We have purchased a left hand drive here to keep in Spain.  Will be driving it back and forth but generally it will be based in Spain.  I assume we shall have to change it to Spanish reg plates.  Any ideas re insuring the car there...... not sure how it works there?

Regarding insuring your car here in Spain, I have been with Linea Directa for the last 14 years or so and have always found them very good, they speak English over the phone as well which is very handy.

Yes, I have used SEGURO Alicante parking for over a year, they are excellent and just next to the petrol station opposite the airport, they have always offered a professional service
