Hi all, I'm looking for a 2 bed property in the Nueva Torrevieja area for €60,000. Obviously at my price it'll be something that might need some doing up. I know done up properties on the market go for more, but I'm willing to put the work in myself. I've actually found a couple of 1 bedroomed flats in the area for around €55K ready to move into not listed on the internet, so I know it's doable, but I need the extra 2nd bedroom. Investors usually get them at that price, do them up and sell on. It's just getting them before the investors do. I'm hoping private sellers might be reading this forum and sell to a private cash buyer like me first :) Please send me a PM if there's anything available, I'm a cash buyer and can move quickly. It's going to be my permanent retirement home, I need the 2nd bedroom for visiting kids and family...I just want to add I'm not some agent or investor, just a single 60 year old bloke looking for a property to retire too

Hello

Be very careful with your location of property in Nueva Torrevieja.   Ive walked through that area for years & some of the streets are very run down & neglected........usually very cheap rentals & a myriad of nationalities & lots look like holiday homes so not in use for most of the year.

Luckily it is walking distance from the town centre as the bus service that goes closest is not very good. Its also a bit of a   trek, through the town to the beach-----carrying all beach equipment too.

There are some high rise blocks that I have not seen inside but  "ready to move into for 55,000euros" doesnt sound great to me. It  really does depend on the location, so  I recommend that you come and visit  & look around before you get swayed by advertising

Cheers

Would suggest you find yourself a rental property and have a good look around.

Which area would you suggest for quiet and nearby amenities in Torrevieja at my price? I also have the option to move further inland and find something bigger with a decent garden or roof terrace, maybe a town house in one of the surrounding villages but I don't want to be tied to using a car for everything. Did find a couple of tiny properties in Quesada and a couple in La Marina but they were too tiny

I did spent a good part of winter in Torrevieja this year, it was ridiculously warm for the time of year

Hello

Moving further inland will always give you more choice for your money but ,I live one street from the beach  with no car,  so being on a route with 3 buses to choose  from was important for me...... choose what is important to you, its all about compromise!

I cant help with suggestions as Im not sure what your budget will buy these days  but, if you see anything that sounds good, go and view.!! Check distance to all important amenities ( consider the intense heat of summer if walking)  remember places that are quiet in winter come alive in summer  with owners/visitors etc and can be noisy.

Ive been in some  high rise apts  in Torrevieja town  that have had very nice rental apts with pleasant views, one bed, communal pool, sometimes a lift, but, only visiting, so didnt know sale prices etc.

Choose carefully, its expensive if you get it wrong.

Cheers

Thanks, yes there's a lot to take into consideration. I'm hoping to get PM's from possible sellers here. Would save them the 5% estate agents sellers fees for a start

try to find a internet link to the bank auctions or for sale of repossessed homes/apartments available here...

ATTN: tho - there might be squatters in the properties...

As to above you might want to learn a little written or even phrases in Spanish when searching thru this avenue.

Hi Chris ……there are a few properties empty/for sale in Toretta Florida- lost of amenities at hand and close to The Haberneras…..there is a 2 x bed house close to my holiday home that’s been empty for over 6yrs - a neighbour knows the elderly owner who’s hoping to sell it.

I’m not over til end of April for a couple of wks but will try to get contact details for you

Regards

Linda
