Thanks for all your replies, I have purchased my licence at Torrepesca Tackle Shop, Torrevieja.

The young lady in the shop arranged it all, I took my NIE & Passport and she filled in the relevant form, she goes to Alicante once a month to purchase licences.

She then emailed me a copy of the licence.

35 euros for five years which means I will not require another, as I will be 60 before it expires and people who are over 60 need only buy one licence which last a lifetime.

Thanks all!

Hi Phil

Is it an inland or beach/sea license?

Thanks

Hi Yan,

It is for shore fishing in the sea.

There are two other licences available, one for boat fishing and one for rivers/lakes.

Hi Phil,

You mentioned giving your nie number, i visit every year as a tourist so i don't have one, do you know if a licence can be purchased without the number?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

Not sure about that, I would think a copy of your passport would suffice.

You could contact Torrepesca shop via their website - link below.

Hi, do I need a separate sea fishing licence to fish from the shore or kayak and do I need 3rd party insurance to fish from a kayak. I already hold a 5yr shire licence. This would be for the Alicante region of the Costa Blanca. I have enquires at a couple of tackle shops but no one seems to know. I have Padrón but not Residencia.

Regards Andy

Hi Andy,

I don't really know!

If the kayak is classed as a boat and you fish from it, then a boat licence may be required.

As aforementioned I found the lady in Torrepesca Tackle Shop very knowledgeable.

Perhaps it would be best to ring her on 965712241 and discuss your requirements.

She is quite fluent in English.

Take a look at this site for information on licencing and in depth knowledge-base on fishing, - http://www.garysmithfishing.com/sli.html , great site for sea anglers of all abilities.

Hope it helps!

Cheers

Phil

Hi all,

I just joined this forum.

I need some info! First, I bought a boat and was told the the boat is licenced not the owner, also a local told me that it is illegal to use meat baits such as squid prawns etc.

Can anyone verify this?

I am in Denia

Regards to all

Alex
