I use CurrenciesDirect and have done for years. Normally get a good rate, quick transfer.

But not as good as WISE check it out.

I agree they are the best. They have recently changed name to "Wise".

I have compared Xe International money transfer with Wise

1. Xe have a slightly better rate

2. Xe have no charges

3. Xe deliver next day.

If the transfer isn't urgent then Xe is cheeper.

So with Wise you get £859.61 for a 1000 euros and with Xe the recipient gets £855.10 for a 1000 euros. Looks like Wise is best to me!  I've done similar comparisons recently and found the rates  for Wise to be better.

Looks like XE are effectively taking charges with their poorer rate which is worse than Wise's and slower to transfer. How can their rate be better when the recipient gets less!

I've tried both companies in the past and Wise has definitely come out on top for exchange rates and transfer time.

Has anybody used them for transferring funds from a Spanish sterling account to spanish euro account. We bank with Sabadell and at the moment their exchange rate is low and then they charge you

Have you tried Revolut? Free online bank where you can exchange at live market prices....

I think you would have to take this up with Wise.  You probably would need to transfer your Spanish sterling to a wise account and then transfer euro back your Spanish euro account.  Long winded but probably still cheaper.

Best probably to transfer sterling to sterling (wise) and then move to Euros.  Then there is no terrible exchange rate but the bank may try to charge you a fee perhaps.

Hi,

I’ve seen replies for wise several times recently. One person stated their Spanish bank did not charge for the deposit from wise to their account. Wondering how they got around that as from other currency transfers attracted charges from sabadell as the transactions take place ?
