Cabo Roig  - huge Irish influence in the whole area. Irish expats, tourists, bars and even Irish supermarkets.

Two areas  the strip near the N332, loads of bars, entertainment within walking distance to the beach and lots of small urbanisations on both sides on the main road. Can be a very quiet area during the day, but is buzzing of a night time. There’s a weekly market between the strip and the beach and a night market every evening in the summer months

Or try inland a bit at Lomas de Cabo Roig, quieter area, less touristy, but still a great selection of bars/restaurants etc.

Hi, I would definitely try La Mata if you want to be near Torrevieja which is great and with many places to eat. There seems to be a good a good amount of Brits in La Mata too.

Around the Los Locos area is good. Lots of nationalities including Irish and UK and Scandinavian.  Also Spanish restaurants and Bars.  Supermarkets within 5 to 10 minutes walk and not a bad bus service.

Check out  on you tube and Facebook. Out and about with Abina and koe. An Irish couple doing Vlogs about Torrevieja and surrounding areas. Also on YouTube, Between the lakes or Scottish couple in Spain. Plenty of Vlogs from people living in the area. Good hunting. I'm also looking for Ideas . Heading out in October 😊 🇮🇪

Hi I suggest you rent first. Some people regret the move after a few months ! I have witnessed it aswell.

Totally agree .We've bought last November looking to move next year to an urbanisation. So definitely rent first if you can .

Think it's much harder to meet new friends if your not in a mostly English speaking area if your not fluent in Spanish.

I would suggest Cabo Roig.  Plenty of bars and restaurants.  Nice walks. Nice beaches nearby.  Everyone speaks English.

Hi I have lived in Torrevieja for 12 years on a urbanization quite near Carefour and close to all amenities.I’m a member of San Luis bowls club if you are interested in playing bowls, the club is called Oasis has large swimming pool and function room which we play cards every thursdays also has entertainment usually every week, the owner Gareth also owns an estate Agent which he might be able to help you with finding a home my advise would be to rent first to make sure where you would permanently like to live. Have a nice day

Regards Helen

Around Orihuela Costa there are many English and Irish people, as well as other nationalities. Bars and restaurants where they have live entertainment, at every turn. Also lovely beaches and coastal walks.  There is so much to do and places to go. There is also a very good direct, non-stop bus service from the airport to Torrevieja bus station. 7 euros.

La Zenia has some lovely urbanisations. Our apartment is right on the edge of La Zenia and Cabo Roig. Far enough back to be quiet but short walk to both places. Loads of bars and restaurants. Cabo Roig strip is very lively, lots of Irish bars

Hi lots of good advise so far definitely rent before buying can be very expensive otherwise there seems a lot of property for sale so selling could be a problem. As for area between torrevieja and cabo Roig there are many areas tha may sute your needs. We moved to La Zenia and have the bulvard shopping centre three supermarkets bars restrants and beaches all within 10 minutes walk. You really need to spend time here and find what suites you.
