Myself and my husband are moving permanently to Benijofar in november and would like advice please on health insurance . Our ages are 59 & 61 so as yet not entitled to our state pension.

Hi

We are about the same age as you. We set up a private healthcare policy around 3 months ago, as we have applied for residency. The total cost (for the two of us) is 1400 Euros for the first year, increasing slightly over the next two years.

No pre-existing conditions are covered. We have co-pay conditions, with a maximum co-pay per person of 600 Euros per year. You can pay a bit more/a bit less by changing the co-pay conditions.

The insurance provider is DKV.

I would advise you to get a quote from Alfonso at Gran Alicante insurances. Brilliant service and very competitive rates. I’m am 57 and my wife is 55, we pay around €1500 per year, with no Co pay.
