Hi all just being told that I need to apply for the S1, I am from Ireland and this form looks like it's for uk residents i have the EhIC card can anyone let me know what I can do thanks in advance winnie
Who is telling you you need an S1?
An S1 is only of use if you are resident and to qualify for it you need to be drawing a pension.
If you are resident then you cannot use an EHIC in Spain.
I think we need a bit more flesh on the bone.

Hi both my husband and I are recieving pensions from Ireland and I just found out that we will be giving up our irish medical card for the S1 as everything will be transferred over here

You need to contact the Health & Safety Executive, Overseas Section in Ireland to request form S1. Telephone 01 620 1816:

The following link will take you to Age In Spain and will guide you through the process of registering the form online. This is much better than making face to face appointments. Where UK is quoted you can read as Irish:
