We have a licensed rental in Playa Flamenca  (VT442999A) www.housebythepool.com  3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and walking distance to beach, shops and Boulevard.

Current availability for June is anytime 5th to 24th.

Otherwise I recommend checking www.spain-holiday.com or www.holidayhomesdirect.ie  These are sites where you get to deal direct with the owner (and all properties are registered too) rather than just a booking service with no personal attention to your requirements.

Hello. I would recommend holidays in Guardamar del Segues. It is the next town 10km to the north. It has 12km of beach's on nice sand (not any rock). Torrevieja is sooo big and you could rent a house so far from the beach. In the town of Guardamar there is not a house further away than 0.5 km.

Regards.

We have Mercadona, Masymaa and an small Carrefour for food. There is not a big shopping Centre but a lot of shops for everything. I just offer you options.

In August  between 60.000 and 80.000 are on vacations here.

Hi Lorraine

A lot of holiday home owners can arrange airport transfers, so worth asking the owner.  There is a bus from Alicante airport as far as Torrevieja bus station but it is non-stop http://www.torrevieja.com/eng/services/torrevieja-alicante-airport-bus-timetable.html  You would then need a taxi to where you are staying.

Orihuela Costa (Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Villamartin etc) has a bus service all around the town and a tourist road train as well linking the beaches.  Plenty of attractions to keep a family happy without the need for a car and you will be within walking distance of some shops no matter where in OC you stay.

Hello again Lorraine, here is the bus guide in and around Torrevieja.

www.turismodetorrevieja.com/add/archivos/Bus.pdf

There is a direct bus to Torrevieja from the airport, takes about 40 minutes, I think.

I´ve had a quick look on Expedia (many others available) for 15th to 29th June from Gatwick, just as an exercise. There is a lot of choice at really good rates for flight and hotel or apartment.

If you combine this with the airport bus, you will save on fully packaged holidays through the likes of Tui and Thomas Cook. If you book the flight and accommodation together, you have the package holiday protection in case of delayed or cancelled flights etc. If you book your own flight and arrange accommodation separately, you have no protection apart from that provided by the airline, such as compensation for delays and refunds for cancelled flights, but will still be liable for any charges you have contracted to with the accommodation, even if you never get there!
Of course, many of these protections are EU based..................

With regards to the protections Cheryl highlighted, you will have a contract with an owner if you book a legal holiday let that has to stipulate the cancellation or 'no show' terms.  You would also still have your own holiday insurance cover too - very important that you take out proper comprehensive cover whether you have a package deal or not, but especially true after March.  Cheryl highlights the problems everyone faces at present as no-one knows what happens at the moment with regard brexit.  If you have a contract drawn up under UK law and you are a UK resident then the rental contract conditions will not be affected even if your EU rights are lost (we stipulate on our booking contract that it is drawn up under UK law as all contracts need to include that detail).  No reason not to book the holiday you want, where you want, as you want but do take out comprehensive travel insurance that includes medical and cancellation cover regardless.
