Hi

I have over 8 years experience working in restaurants and bars in the UK. Myself and my girlfriend are moving to Torrevieja in early January and both looking for work straight away.

I have just left my role as an accountant for some sun and a change in lifestyle. If anyone has or knows of any opportunities it would be greatly appreciated. Like i said we both have great experience and are exremely commited. Part time work would be great to start if that suits any employers.

We would both be an asset to any restaurant or bar team, please let me know if you have or know of anything available.

Best regards

Dan Wright and Ellie Thomas

I'm sure as you probably know that you would need to speak reasonable Spanish. The bars and restaurants may get a lot of English customers but  staff who can speak both will always take priority when applying for jobs.

Pay is low (very low compared to UK) and hours can be high . The work is often seasonal and in Winter the bars/restaurants may not need the same amount of staff as Summer. Jobs are not easy to come by.

Also it's not an easy life working in Spain - It's not the sun sea and fun that it may seem if you have to work...that's for holidays!

Personally I would stay in the UK to work and come out for holidays but if you are set on the idea, good luck! Best to know the situation before you get here.

I understand the differences between Spain and the UK. I have friends and family who are doing similar things in other regions and are enjoying it.

My spanish is coming along having spent 3 months in Valencia. And im sure being in a working enviroment would only help it along further.

Thankyou for your input but it will not deter myself and my girlfriend from looking to move out to Torrevieja. And we are still very interested in any job opportunities that may be available.
