Good luck with the move. I have made the suggestion to others before... wander around this forum and join in as well as getting yourself a facebook page and joining the forums / facebook pages in the area you will be in.
The work will not land on your lap but go and seek it, work hard, turn up on time, do a good job (especially do hat you say you will do) and be polite and you are very likely to have people recommend you.
