Have a look at Los Balcones, Lago Jardin 1 area. It's a large complex by side of salt lake. Opposite DNA Monse Hotel. Bus routes in and out of Torrevieja Town and other areas. Supermarkets and farmacias on the doorstep approx 10/15 Bars within 10mins walk Inc a pool bar and restaurant on the complex. Properties are very reasonably priced

26 min walk to the beach or a 8 minute bus ride from the complex

Just another option for you to explore

BTW we don't get any major mozzie probs. They get sprayed as well as the complex regularly. And have NEVER seen 1 cochroache on the complex in 4 years of being here.

We live in San Luis. Very quiet, residential area with a mix of houses to suit most budgets from €60k to €600k.

Plenty bars, restaurants and shops, great bus routes into town and 5 mins walk to bank at La Siesta.

As I say, it's nice and quiet most of the year, gets busier during school holidays, but it's an ideal location.

The other areas mentioned above are all good too, just depends on what you want and if you will require a car etc...

Hola   I have heard that Torrevieja   now has more Ukrainians than British    so take your time looking

a good tip is to rent     then you find out pitfalls     have you looked around San Javier    Los Alcazares

even out a bit from the sea     if so (you do need transport)   take a look at   Sierra Golf     or Balsicas

Have a look at San Miguel de las Salinas...its not too far inland but compensated by having very cheap properties...village has everything needed for living but you would need a car sometimes..there is a bus to Torrev. On the map you will see the CV95 going out of Torrevieja and it's just about 6miles. ... close to Torrev. hospital ....You get out of the rough and ready parts Torrevie. especially away from the hen and stag do areas into a much more relaxed and very happy area....it's all set for a lot more building but it has very much more an all year round community of all sorts. I was surprised I didn't like the area at first but everyone I know is extremely happy there. (friends there not me)

I'm sure there's not many people bothered about moving to another country and want to be surrounded by BRITISH people.

The usual 'I've heard' again. Well I live in Torrevieja and I can tell you there's more Spanish than anyone and second to that it's Belgians.  Yes of course we are having a few families from the Ukraine moving over, but so is everywhere that's affordable due to the current situation.

Torrevieja and the areas around it Inc Orihuela Costa is a beautiful place and very affordable. Overall it had fantastic bus links to many different places.

Personally I wouldn't go near the Mar Menor, it stinks! The water isn't great and the transport links are awful. Each to their own I suppose.  But asking someone to hold off looking because you have heard a certain nationality is around is a bit silly.

I  agree  with  Frettez 83.  The  world is  a  small  nowadays  and  every   area  has  forgoing  national  living  there. Yes  Ukrainian   are in Torrevieja  and  every  other area in  Orihuela Costa. They  have  to  live  somewhere   as  we  all  know  about  Putin  10  day  military   operation   as  he  called  it.  These  are  entitled   to  live  in Spain  or  any  other  country. There  Cities have  be  flattened

Hi. We are an Irish couple (early fifties)thinking of buying a small property near Torrevieja. It seems to be the only place near coast/big town within our budget.  Just wondering given some not such good press on the city itself what are peoples honest opinions of living here? . Also what i...

...s the La Toreta and San Luis area like ? Or are they near the sewage treatment Many thanks in advance for any advice.

I’m interested to know what bad press, lived in la siesta for 20 years , no probs, everything you need , 7 mins drive to the beach also 😎
