My dog, Dylan , has arrived safely in Spain . We’ve been for a few nice walks , I’m not letting him off the lead. Haven’t seen any caterpillars but very nervous about them . He has settled down well , he’s enjoying the weather much warmer than Wales !

Still early days for the caterpillars, there was a report earlier in the week that the first ones had been seen in Torrevieja but you would really expect to see them in March and April.
I live in a pine wood, and have for 20 yrs-ish. The few that escaped my annual control ( as posted previously) have already commenced their southerly procession ( maybe torrevieja direction). Most (even inquisitive) dogs tend to leave them alone. Simple training.....if they show an interest in the procession, the command "NO!" comes i handy. Cats seem to have more sense. In 20 years, I have experienced only 4 cases of a problem with dogs. My dogs (sadly deceased..... THROUGH OLD AGE) managed 14 yrs without an emegency visit to the vet!. Don't panic. Villas.
Now, forget catterpillars . lets discuss a more serious problem.... THE TICK. .much more of a prob.......!

I was out on my bike on the bike track from Quesada to Torrevieja, looked at the path and saw two rows of them. Too late, I went over them. So they must be out and about early... Frightening for our pets..
