Hi has anybody had or has a polyester ( I think that is the correct material, used to be mainly fibreglass) swimming pool ? I am thinking about having a pool put in and have seen adverts for this type of pool as opposed to a gunite construction. I am looking for any advice good or bad.

Regards Tim Patrick

Hi Patrick

We have had a 7x4 metre fibreglass pool for over 13 years and it is still working well.

We were advised to have one as our house is in the mountains and these type of pools are more flexible to earthquakes, whereas concrete ones can crack.

They are easier to maintain and I think cheaper to have installed.

I would thoroughly recommend one.

Lou

Hi Lou, thanks for your reply, I don't suppose you know who fitted it?

Many thanks, Tim

Hi Tim

Our house is in Almeria so we used a Spanish company there. I am not sure they would come this far but I can enquire for you.

I would recommend that you use a Spanish company as they know how to install correctly and they will also get the relevant licences for you. Get a few quotes before you decide on who to use.

Please message me if you have any other questions, it is no problem.

Good luck

Lou
