Shopping Delivery Mercadona

I have been shopping online with Mercadona for years, but lately I'm finding it impossible to send my order, their bank Seeker bank, is making it impossible to pay for my order, I'm sitting here for hours trying to finalise, I have a British card, do you think this is the problem since Brexit, don't want to sound paranoid, but has anyone had a similar experience, or could offer any advice?

Cannot speak authoritatively but would assume UK bank cards may now be difficult, especially as some UK banks have withdrawn from the EU.

Thanks that's really interesting, I'll have to find out why my payments not being allowed, although Mercadona have been very helpful, apparently they changed something on their site, she said about a month ago, so the lady promised to sort it next time there is a problem.

Hi Jean,

It may be that your use of the card abroad needs updating with your bank (easily done online). The maximum my bank allows is a 6 months period before having to once again update your dates with them. Really easy to forget to notify of the date extending. While online with your bank check that they have the full mobile number for contacting you as they are now sending authorisation text numbers for online payments.

I am very surprised at the amount of people who live here and don't have a spanish bank account. I wonder if it's easy to use foreign bank cards from third countries all the time in the UK.

Yes you could be right, I have had confirmation numbers sent before, so that's right. I think there may be a problem, because I don't have a smartphone so can't touch screen. Have been in touch with my bank, pretty useless as they said there is no problem or stops on my account.

Mercadona have been really helpful so am hopeful they can sort it.
