Your washer does not have a quick wash option, the option buttons on left inicio is start, centre is to leave your washing in last rinse water so it doesn't crease if away from machine then spin off later. Third button is a reduced spin option, all washes default to 1000rpm spin but can be reduce...

...d to 600rpm for reduced creasing. I always use the low spin option as it dries so quick and never needs ironing. The programme selector is a bit unusual in that for synthetics it doesn't have a wash above 40°, usually white synthetics are washed at 60°and older machines have a 50° option for coloured synthetics but done away on most modern machines now. There are 2 programmes on the cotton side (algoden) which have a box around the temps 40 and 60, maybe these are shorter time washes or even longer duration ones but you,d have to time them compared to the standard 40 and 60 beside them. You do have cold water programmes on both materials which means no heating just washes at temp of cold water, which is often around 30/35 in Spain so very economic and should be your fastest washes. The 20° wash I would say is your only option for a fast wash by that manufacturer intended to be used in cold months when cold water is below 10°. This machine has been manufactured to be economical to run hence the A+++ rating. A washer generally uses 200/300 Watts for the motor running so despite washer taking a long time to wash if temp is set to frio(no heating) it really is not an expensive machine to run so not worth stressing about the time it takes. Machines with quick wash options simply cut out the heating process which you have already with the 2 frio settings. I think you,d be crazy to get a new one just to have a "quick wash" which doesn't even give sufficient time to kill germs with the detergent as it's a very recent purchase and given its been used as a holiday home machine has probably not even had 1 yrs normal household use. The reason washers have differrent settings is because depending on choice of the material selected the water level, the time of agitation and the amount of rinses and levels of water in the rinses are all differrent. Cotton washes have vigorous longer agitations and shorter pauses compared to synthetic washes which are opposite, less agitation and longer pauses. Delicate and wool virtually have next to no agitation at all. Use your frio washes as today's detergents are geared up for the low temp washes. Hope this has helped you understand your washer better, I worked for Hoover and Zanussi for 20years and know what it takes to design a washer. Ironically Spain has little use for quick washes as they are more relaxed re the time it takes its just our Brit mentality that wants everything done yesterday instead of mañana.

Wow! Thank you very much Pauline. That's about the A to Z of my machine. Very helpful. Thanks again.
