Tks Will try

Hi Grace,

I’ve shared this wonderful method many times but here goes again.

Chinese shop, buy a bottle of BLANCO ( Upva glue).  Mix 1part glue with 5 parts water. So, if you want to cover a large area, pour the contents of the bottle into a container eg mop bucket. Fill the bottle 5 times from the cold tap and mix thoroughly.

Now, using a good paint brush, coat your wall all over. If damp is really bad, rub all flaky paint to start with and coat your bad area twice. Once dry ( minutes) paint. A bottle of blanco costs less than €4 so not going to rob the bank

Tip. Sometimes the emulsion is very thick, pour some of the mix into the pot and stir . I have used this many times years ago and never looked back. Recently, we painted out pebble dashed walls. By coating the walls thoroughly, the paint went on effortlessly otherwise the paint seeps into the wall without appearing to be coated.

Good luck and get painting. Also, I’ve used it for the area around my windows which have become damp from condensation. Excellent results.
