Whilst I am not an expert on this matter I can tell you what I know about my child and school

My wife and I had to obtain an NIE, then register us both AND our daughter at the Padron. Once this was done we registered with the school.

Thank you I have my padron with my son on it so hopefully wont need nie but will get sorted asap

I should have said, I am finding for most things now that the padron must be dated within the last 3 months. May be worth you checking just in case.
