Residencia in Torrevieja

Hi

My Wife and I have just moved to Torrevieja a few days ago and registered today on the Padron.

We went to the police station for residencia and were told to book an appointment online.

On the first attempt we were only offered Elda as an option for Residencia so I thought I may have made an error on the application.

I tried again and got a message to say there are no available appointments but more will be added later.

I tried several more times but just got the same message.

Is this normal and when are they likely to be available again, if anyone knows.

I have a lot of questions to ask in time and would appreciate any help from people on this forum.

From my experience the appointments are released around 10.45 am.

Torrevieja is notoriously bad for turning down residencia applications, mine was turned down as I couldn't prove my income for 6 months, I am autonomo so don't need to prove an income, they also asked for several documents that weren't needed. My wife's was turned down, they asked her for a tax return from my business, which she can't get because it's my business and she has no input, doesn't work for me & therefore doesn't take a wage.

We got an appointment a few days later at Orihuela Costa (Playa Flamenca) took along exactly the same documents as we did to Torrevieja and within 25 minutes it was all done and we were told to come back a week later to collect our cards.

The appointments that are released are normally within a few days (at least they were when we did ours a month ago) you just have to take whatever appointment you can get, if it means travelling so be it.

Bugger it I just saw your username, I wouldn't have helped if I'd known you were a bluenose lol.
