Hello,
I am visiting in Sept (staying in Los Altos area) and my dad is disabled and can't walk very far. We are not hiring a car and I have read a lot about how bad the Taxi's are in town. Dad wont be able to walk to/stand in a Taxi queue for a long time, so I wondered if you had any advice on the best way for him to get in to/out of town? Are Taxi's really that bad?
Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Get the phone number of the local taxi company and ask them to pick you up at your hotel or apartment block etc.
Hotel Reception will do it for you.

you could change your plans and hire a car. There is still time to do it and prices might be cheaper. The school term starts Sept 11 in the Valencia region.

Taxis are not that bad at all, they provide a good service and welcome customers of all types, so no bees to be apprehensive about using them👍

Hi
If you're staying close to a bar, it may be easiest to ask the staff to order a taxi for you - the drivers know all the bars but many appartment/houses can be difficult to find because they are inside private communities.
Last year, taxis were a nightmare, caused by lockdowns, but it's much better now.
If by "town" you mean Torrevieja, well it's not the easiest town to get around if you have mobility issues - I'd say Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca etc are better and nearer.
