Gota Fria II?

We had rain most of the day, but nothing like the September storm.  The north coast of Spain, beyond Barcelona, and the south of France took the biggest hit this time.

I do wish people would desist from calling every storm or heavy rain shower a 'Gota Fria'. 

Do please look it up and learn what the term actually means before mindlessly trotting it out.

It makes no difference to me as we are ok where our house is and we are in the UK now anyway.  I was just interested.

What a friendly reply that was (not!).  I was only asking out of interest that's all.  I used the term because that very same one was used the week before last in a couple of places where I was looking up current news items for the region.  Obviously sometimes journalists (or blog writers) over exaggerate what's coming but, as I say, I was only quoting what had been "forecast".

Seems it wasn't anything like the three-day horrible weather that I witnessed in September, but then I didn't really think it would be.

You're correct - AEMET, Spain's meteorological department, did forecast a "DANA" for Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd October (colloquially, it's referred to as a "gota fria", meaning "cold drop").  As I said in my previous response, we got off lightly this time, but the north coast of Spain and the south of France were not so lucky. 

I had an idea it wouldn't be as bad for us as last time, when I saw that AEMET's Orihuela office had posted on their Twitter account the preceding Thursday, "You'll need your big coat"  :o)
