This might be a bit random! I have been invited to a dinner party, immediately after landing in the Uk. The hosts are Swedish, and I wondered if anyone could recommend a suitable ‘Swedish’ gift I could buy here - perhaps in Carrefour- and take with me in my hand luggage. There aren’t any shops local to them in the Uk, that sell Swedish food, so I thought perhaps a little treat from ‘home’ would be welcome, and easier to buy here. TIA for any suggestions.

Kalles the blue one is Swed the other in Nor just for fun or sild fish in jars with onions kind of like roll mops but oh so much better or a wooden tree ornament as its xmas trolls are popular or goats out of straw

Thank you Fiona. I’d like something that they can’t easily get in the Uk. The Sild with onions sounds good .. but I imagine the jars are more than 100 grams, so might be out, as I only have hand luggage. I’ll look in Carrefour at this and the Kalles. Thank you for your kind suggestions.

Oh great. I didn’t know there was one. I’ll look on Google Maps. Many thanks

This is not wanting to be awkward, but why take something Swedish. I guarantee they can get most things in UK and also will have contacts with people actually in Sweden who may travel! Why not take them something completely different from Spain, such as Turrón, which, whilst available in UK, they are not likely to know about unless aficionados. I realise you are being thoughtful, it’s just a suggestion.

Thank you. It’s a good suggestion. I was going to take Turrón as well. They live in a rural area, so I thought they may not get much access to Scandinavian treats.

Great. The staff may be able to help with some ideas, as well. Thank you.
