It is also known as Aleta de ternera.

Thanks so much.

Goodness, that is expensive for stewing meat?

I have lived in Europe since the mid 70s and meat used to be tasty. From about 1995 I noticed in Germany that many restaurants were advertising that no European meat was sold in their establishments. In Poland then, the meat was very tasty, I happened to meet a French guy on the train from Warsaw...

... to Katowice one afternoon and I mentioned the good quality of the meat in Poland.

He said he worked for a company that produced the chemicals that the animals were treated with before being slaughtered. He said that the meat would change in the coming couple of years becoming tasteless like the rest of Europe. Being based in N Italy everyone raved about Piemonte beef. Bland!  An Argentinian acquantance imported some beef from Argentina, Super! I have worked in various Arabic countries and the meat has always been excellent (Including Pork from Egypt) In Sanaa our local lunchtime restaurant would get freshly slaughtered lamb and barbeque it. Superb!

Here we buy no beef or lamb from the supermarkets or expat butchers , overpriced cardboard!  We go to Elche to the Halal butchers on the High street, Good tasty meat and half the price of the supermarkets. The Halal butchers in Torrevieja are not very clean and try to push mutton and poor beef cuts. Prices are Ok but keep your eyes open and watch what their local customers are buying. Many of our friends now buy their lambchops and steaks from these butchers.

Buon Appetito

M

Much appreciated advice.

So kind of you.

Pechuga usually refers to chicken breast. As I said earlier, called Pecho or Aleta de ternera. But however, different regions name cuts differently!

Google say Brisket meat is Carne de Pechuga.

The latest translation is falda, which is skirt.

I looked in Mercadona yesterday for Pechuga, and Tierna, which you mentioned, with no success.

Haven't looked for Falda though,so will.

I'll try emailing some butchers.

Gracias.

Lovely,thank you.

We don't live far from Los Montisinos.

Apparently Reeves butchers on the 905 has it.

It is 17€ a kilo.
