Unbelievable which posts Fb allow and the ones they should ban they don't do anything about it!

Yes I know, I've had teams of people including my staff all report it yet nothing is being done about it, it's disgraceful.

I have private messages everyone who has commented on the posts and told them it's a scam and had a lot of replies thanking me, so that is something. Also myself, one of my staff and hubby have put review on saying scam and there are quite a few others have done the same. He needs to be stopped, he nearly destroyed my business.  He had his own son arrested for money laundering  he sent some deposits over to him in Thailand and told him it was for different reasons, he got arrested, he contacted me and when he counted Barri his Dad, he just blocked him!!! Scum bag!

About 6 years ago we went after several properties through Solvia and we were dismayed to find that they gave first preference to Spanish nationals. We knew that on 1 property at least we were the first to show interest but we were pushed back. We complained to their head office and to our local branch and were in the first instance offered an inferior property in the first building and another poor choice at a 2nd location. The same thing occurred again 3 years ago in Benalmadena, so it appears to be normal practice.

One good way to buy property is through the state auctions on repossessed properties by the State. The process is a bit complicated but do-able and you may be the only bidder at the lowest price. Check it out, you can get a list of upcoming auctions  with all the details. It was necessary to pay a 10% deposit to the Fiscalia but in the case of you not winning this is returned to your account within 24hrs. When we were interested there was nothing that we we found enticing but as investments go this was pretty good.

Do you have a website address for upcoming auctions?

Not any longer, have changed computers since then, but it should not be hard to find, Search for Subastas Fiscalia or Hacienda.

The whole of Spain is treated regarding repossessions for outstanding debts to the state, there are cars, land, houses, garages, etc up for auction, so there is a big list to sift through. There is quite a procedure to go through to register but I did do it but we did not take it any further because we wanted a house in a particular area. There were the details about how it must be paid, and Notorial act  within about 3 weeks.

Good Luck

Thank you

Let me know how it goes these days, it was certainly not publicised broadly. I saw a notification of sale by auction in a Torremolinos local Spanish daily local newspaper for a couple of garages. So I followed it up, there were hundreds of pages from the recent past up to the present date then, about 2011/12.

Hi there, I received a message from Barrie Miles after I posted a FB message to a local Expats group looking for a rental.

He messaged me about a property in El Campello. Next I received an email from Gordon Laird. <[email protected]> who provided photos and conditions of the rental. He also asked me to pay 550 now to reserve and visit on Thursday.

I did a Google search and found out he is a scammer. Could you please report and block Barrie Miles from all Expat groups. I suggest all group admins decline any profile that was created this year or has few friends etc.

I have reported the profile to FB and Google. View the fake profile of Barrie Miles here and block it right away https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069614261574 Also learn, how do I report a Facebook account or Page that's pretending to be me or someone else, here https://www.facebook.com/help/mobile-touch/174210519303259https://stopscamfraud.com/viewtopic.php?t=24246
