Yes, and they are likely to check the ‘chip’ number also. It’s also a requirement that your cats are wormed once a year officially - I realise you probably do it regularly! - but we get the vet to do it also when they have their annual vaccinations so it’s legal and then do it as and when necessary the rest of the year.
Would also advise that you ‘de-flea’ them regularly with one of the veterinary products; one of ours has developed the most appalling hideous skin allergy to the fleas here which results in raw weeping patches. We have always treated ours for fleas in UK, but unfortunately the fleas have developed immunity to several of the products, hence our poor cat’s problem here. We now have to treat every three weeks with Stronghold Plus and every four weeks she has to have an antihistamine injection from the vet, which is managing to keep it under control, but if we miss a week it starts all over again.
The only small relief is that in general treatment here is cheaper than UK!!! And I have also been told, interestingly, that one may not buy animal treatments online more cheaply here, as apparently the market was flooded some few years ago with cheap imports which were fraudulent and so the market has been banned and the medications are only available from vets. This does not apply to the products available in supermarkets.
