I have been paying Crack 24 since 2008 -270 eoros per year. The systems don't work and need replacement now, so I decided to cancel the service. They no longer even send someone if alarm does ring because of outdated transmitter.

I wemailed then over and over to say I want to cancel and got no reply. Got plenty of communication to sell new systems now nothing. My Bankia has been taken over by Caixa bank and I've had trouble trying to find direct debits to cancel  this online. I emailed the bank to say I want to cancel Crack. Didn't get response from them either. Now I find it's 130 euros taken again. No mention of 'Crack' but from Central.Rec.Alarms 24. Has Crack gone bust? Has another company taken over. How can I get it through to them to stop the service and stop billing me? Can I get a refund? I can barely affordbupkeep as it is..help.

Probably best to just open another account and cancel the one you have, trust me businesses will soon be in touch with you

Banks are supposed to cancel DD's on demand, if you have cast iron proof of having instructed yours to cancel then any money taken since should be recoverable.

Are you sure it's a DD or could it be a continuous payment authority, that can only be cancelled by the recipient.

I'd visit your branch to get it sorted.

I think that the Crac 24 office is in Crevillente. I would go there, show them the cancellation emails, ask for a refund and get confirmation that the contract is cancelled. If they refuse then ask for the Hoja de Reclamaciones. Fill it in there in the office and make sure you get your copy signed by you and them. If they refuse to give you the Hoja then call the local police there and then, not after you leave. If you don't speak Spanish, take someone with you who does.
