I have a potencia/capicity set at 3.3kW and at 28 days pay 11.90 euro, we do manage most times, but my wife occasionally trips everything!!!! But as you have a good rated supply of 5.75kW and if deciding to drop to 4.5kW potencia/capacity I could see no problem with your electrical wiring, as if you wanted more power/potencia/capacity I feel you would need a wiring check to see if this needed to be upgraded and as asked your monthly standing charge would be reduced if you decided to take the lower option? but check out with Ibedrola and also see what offers/discounts they have, I am on the 8 hour plan, very good half price electric for a chosen 8 hours over a day, they also do a 12 hour plan, but this will not lower your standing charge?, good luck, stay safe and healthy.

With Iberdrola you can check your account on line.

Under “My Smart Consumption” then click on “Trend”

Then pick a month then click on a day

You will see your consumption in graph form.

Hope this helps.

Hi Rob

I am on the same potencia rate as you,5.75 and my monthly charge is €22 for 31 days.On top of this you pay for the hire of the meter equipment which is not a lot, just short of a €1 per month.Plus on top of that is 21% tax of the total bill.I am on the night time rate for the cost of my electric which this month was €23.If you decide to reduce your potencia your standing charges will be cheaper, but bear in mind if you need to up grade to your old rate again there is extra charges involved. If you need to know anything else don't hesitate to pm me.

Hi Rob, you can get the Ibadola app to show your daily usage. Also Just Google  calculate my potencia and a easy calculator is also available from iberdola to find your correct potencia.

Also there is a 8hr anytime plan and a 13 hr fixed night right plan to choose from

Hi Lesley

I don't know if things have changed, but when I first arrived I had a UK mobile phone and Iberdrola wouldn't let me use the app until I had a Spanish phone number.

I have a 2 bed apartment other than a check of the property every 3 weeks and the fridge left on my bills seem excessive compared to what people are saying.

I have added a screenshot below
