Hi Tourneyman,

Everything you need to know is in Jim's Guides - scroll down to the section on Non-resident tax, where you'll find a full description of what it is and the most cost effective ways of paying it:

Jim's guides - your complete guide to Spain

Kind regards,

Kim

I was just wondering how this came about? Did you get a bill through the post or your own enquiries via others?

Hi....okay

I genuinely though that this was the payment that my bank takes annually as identified on my statements as non residents tax?

Hi Geoff,

No, that's the bank charging a fee for providing a certificate to the Police, confirming details of each of their Non-resident account holders.  They're obliged to do this every 2 years.  Non-resident tax, paid to the Spanish tax office, Agencia Tributaria, has to be paid annually.

Kind regards,

Kim

I may be wrong... Unless you have something set up with your bank to automatically pay it.... Don't know if that's possible but I'm a novice 😂
